Nothing beats a nice crisp tee shirt on those casually chic days . Nothing like a tee shit that conveys a message of fashion and comfort. What brand are we referring too ? The rising brand that is sweeping the internet EPPIC Clothing . The name of the brand lives up to its high expectation . Take a look at our exclusive interview with the rising brand , Eppic Clothing .
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?
Eppic Clothing : It all first started with cycling caps. Detroit has a large bicycle community and events such as Slow Roll Detroit bring thousands of cyclists out to ride around the neighborhoods of the greater Detroit area. So we initially started selling custom Detroit cycling caps online and to local bicycle shops. From there we evolved to custom shirts and we are looking toward a winter line as well.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?
Eppic Clothing : Well, good thing for us, we have a large group of friends who are all doing great things around Detroit. We all come together and support each other any way we can and give feedback on new ideas. But as far as employees, it is just my husband and I.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to other children who want to become entrepreneurs?
Eppic Clothing : 1. Never let anyone tell you no. 2. You are never to old to learn something new. 3. Love it. Some days it won't love you back, but you must love it more.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Eppic Clothing : Think about entrepreneurship more than entering Corporate America and focus on owning your own business.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur ?
Eppic Clothing : 1. Patience, starting a business takes time, lots of time. 2. Humility, whatever work you put into the business, you will get out of it and expect nothing more. 3. The world doesn't owe you a thing
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?
Eppic Clothing : When we first started, we acquired a lot of product that took more time to sell. We quickly learned that product not being sold is a loss.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?
Eppic Clothing : Outside of our full time jobs that take 40+ hours a week. Eppic Clothing will take from 25 - 35 hours a week, including weekends.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day?
Eppic Clothing : 7AM: out the bed and preparing for work 8AM-4PM we work our full time jobs 5PM -6:30PM We go to the gym, because taking care of your health is really important. 7PM Dinner. 7:30pm - 12AM work for Eppic Clothing
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
Eppic Clothing : Since my husband and I work on the company together, it has become a part of our every day lives. We are both from the south and our families are still there so we don't have any family close by. So we have made this part of our regular routine and have incorporated it into our every day family life.
Fashion Gxd Magazine: What motivates you?
Eppic Clothing : Growing up I did not have a lot of clothes but I was always aware of the latest trends and dope clothing. So I decided to create my own clothing line that I love and people like me would love.
Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?
Eppic Clothing : A lot of times it comes at random points of the day that I may think of an idea for a shirt. Other times, my husband and I brainstorm for hours thinking of new ideas. We believe that you must make a product that you yourself would love to wear.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?
Eppic Clothing : Well, I've missed a lot of great shows, haven't seen Game of Thrones and a lot of other popular Netlfix series that we hear about. A lot of free time is taken from us because we give a lot of that to the company.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?
Eppic Clothing : We hope for a strong following of supporters that are returning customers and hopefully get into major store fronts maybe even a brick and mortar store of our own.
