Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?

K&N Fashion Affair : My husband and I were having a talk one day about starting our own businesses. We discussed our passions and strengths. I’m great at keeping up with the latest fashion trends, accounting and shopping ☺  while my husband is great at accounting and business management. We put two and two together and BOOM we have our first business; an online clothing boutique for women with the hopes of adding Men’s and Children’s clothing soon.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :How do you find people to bring into your organization the way you do?

K&N Fashion Affair : Currently it’s just my husband and I. We are networking with other successful business owners and aspiring models to help build our brand.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to other children who want to become entrepreneurs?

K&N Fashion Affair : The same advice we tell our children. Find your strengths and passion, make a plan and execute.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

K&N Fashion Affair : If we had the chance to start over we would start sooner.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

K&N Fashion Affair : You should be persistent, consistent and knowledgeable of the industry you’re planning to start your business in.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : What have been some of your failures and what have you learned from them?

K&N Fashion Affair : With being a fairly new business we have not experienced any known failures.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :How many hours do you work a day on average?

K&N Fashion Affair : We are always working every day non stop. From brainstorming to networking and marketing.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : Describe/outline your typical day.

K&N Fashion Affair :Every morning we review our Social Media accounts to determine what type of marketing is needed for the day that will help increase followers and generate sales.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :We also search for any local networking opportunities that will allow us to showcase our business.

K&N Fashion Affair: We research all successful online boutiques to understand their history and successes. As well as what marketing strategies they use that may help us grow our business.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :How has being an entrepreneurs affected your family?

K&N Fashion Affair : It has a positive effect on our family. All of our children are active in the business. Any events we have they are a part of as well. We are raising young entrepreneurs ☺

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?

K&N Fashion Affair : Our children. Everything we do is for their futures.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :How do you generate new ideas?

K&N Fashion Affair : Reading and Research. We read every day. We research the business industry to see how well it’s doing in profit. We focus on a target audience, their likes, interests and needs to incorporate that into our marketing strategies.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What sacrifices have you had to make to be successful entrepreneurs?

K&N Fashion Affair : We have many late nights and early mornings. Everything we do revolves around the business and our family. We gave up a lot of our free time but in the end it will all be worth it.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :Where do you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?

K&N Fashion Affair :We have a few more businesses that we plan to start in the next couple of years so be on the lookout for that. By the 10 year mark our children should be graduating college and running the family businesses while we retire and travel the world!
