FGM: It's an honor to sit down with you. Tell us a little about your brand and how you've come to this vastly successful peek in your career .
Damon: First of all, the honor is truly mine. Well Damon "Amin" Meadows is a son, a husband, a father, a brother, a uncle, a friend before I'm a brand. In 1993, I was tried and sentenced to Life without the possibility of parole. During 21 years, and several successful appeals, I rehabilitated myself in that non-rehabilitative environment, even becoming an Essence Best Selling Author while in prison.
After my release in 2014, I was introduced to network marketing which opened the door to me becoming an awareness expert. I did a presentation on Facebook live that went viral with over 85 million views. So I've combined the best of both worlds.
FGM: Who are the clients/what are the projects that you most enjoy working on?
Damon: I will never limit my creativity so everyone is a potential client/customer/friend. I'm very passionate about all my projects because they're cause driven. Especially teaching people about Crypto and helping them earn Bitcoins because money as we know it has changed. But the one that's close to my heart is our docuseries called "MOURNING MOTHERS OF HIP HOP". Mothers who have lost their child/children by gun violence, allow the world to look through their eyes as they try to deal with their new reality.
FGM: How do you feel you make a difference in the world?
Damon: I'm making a difference in the world by bringing awareness and educating through my projects. I love to bring to the light subjects most people want to sweep under the rug. Like my book "CONVICT'S CANDY" deals with homosexuality and HIV within the penal system and how our communities are affected once those inmates are released. I'm not afraid to push the envelope. Autographed copies can be purchased at www.embracepublishing.com.
FGM: Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as an entrepreneur?
Damon: When I left my family by selling drugs and getting a Life sentence, I was determined to change for the better and remain being a provider but by legal means.
FGM: Give me the three best qualities of your brand?
Damon: Educational, Entertaining and Unpredictable.
FGM: Being a entrepreneur is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?
Damon: Honestly, I've been a hustler my whole life and I pride myself on never being average! So with that comes a lot of sleepless nights and long working hours.
FGM: How did you acquire the ability to work under pressure to beat meet deadlines as a entrepreneur?
Damon: Believing and knowing that failure is not an option. So whatever has to be done, gets done.
FGM: What is your favorite inspirational point, place, to develop new brand developments?
Damon: For me, there is no particular point or place. I'm inspired to develop new projects by real people and everyday life.
FGM: Which current public figure, are you inspired by or appreciate the most?
Damon: I'm inspired by J. Prince, Eric Thomas, Gary Vee, Mark Cuban and the like.
FGM: How do you handle stress ?
Damon: I'm a Muslim so our way of life is offering prayer five times a day, fasting during the whole month of Ramadan, believing in divine preordainment, etc. Islam has so many things in place to help mankind deal with every aspect of his or her life.
FGM: What are the three qualities you feel an entrepreneur must have
Damon: Very tough skin, be self-driven and know that you can do everything by yourself.
FGM: Where do you see your business in 10 years ?How do you plan to get there ?
Damon: In 10 years, we'll be funding indie movies, after the adaptation of "CONVICT'S CANDY", teaching people about Cryptocurrency and other investment opportunities.
FGM: It was a pleasure speaking with you thank you for joining us!
Damon: You are so welcome. People can contact me through my media, IG & FB @Damon Amin Meadows and/or email: amin.embracepublishing@gmail.com. I want to thank you again for having me.
