Fashion Gxd Magazine : Why are you a Fab mother ?

Courtney Welch : "I am 29, and a single mother to my son Caleb, 15 months. The first year of motherhood is naturally a time of adjustment however I was met with the additional challenge of having to deal with homelessness. I was forced out by my landlord, who chose to move back in to the property with a 30 day warning. I didn't start back to work until a week before we were supposed to out of the unit so unfortunately being able to move into a new home immediately was not an option. After staying in a hotel and using up  the emergency homelessness assistance from the county, we had to move to San Diego to stay with my grandmother. There Caleb and I share a room, and a twin bed (we are very cramped lol), but our future is bright. These last few months have allowed us to regroup and become more self sufficient than ever before. I founded my own company, Courtney Consulting Agency, a virtual assistant firm, which has grown from one client in February to five clients currently. I decided to found my company because I wanted the ability to be present and flexible for my son while he was still very little. Through my business, I have made wonder strides professionally and I was recently appointed to the position of Director of Customer Experience for the new home sharing start up, Noirbnb. Caleb even has a little blooming career of his own within the entertainment industry. He is currently modeling and just landed his second national commercial. I always said I wanted to be someone my son could proudly tell his children about and that is why I put the greatest effort to be the best business owner, mother, and woman I can be.The past year has been emotionally trying, but I know that by staying positive and utilizing all opportunities given to me, no matter how big or small, my little family can accomplish anything. We are well on our way to living the great life we deserve. "
